FAQs

Usually, your chosen design can be created by using a combination of standard mariz worktops and modules that your fitter will simply join together on-site. However, if you are looking for something that may not be as straightforward, we offer a ‘custom service’ through our retailers. Through this, you can adjust the length & width of your mariz worktop, while also having the option to move your sink from its standard central position.

Compact laminate worktops are heat resistant to a point, however, we recommend that you never place hot items directly onto the worksurface as this can cause heat damage to the laminate. To prevent this, use heat pads when placing hot items down.

Mariz worksurfaces are non-porous and resistant to stains, mould, mildew, and bacteria growth Mariz can be easily maintained with clean warm soapy water and a damp cloth. This will remove everyday dirt, grease, and spills. Make sure to dry the worksurface with a clean, dry cloth to help prevent water stains. For common stains such as coffee, tea, or food spills, gently scrub the affected area with a soft cloth or sponge and a mixture of warm water and mild dish soap. For tougher stains such as wine, a non-abrasive cream and non-abrasive brush can be used with warm soapy water.

Lighter décors typically show less wear than darker décors, it boils down to personal preference.

Unlike products such as minerva, mariz worktops cannot be repaired if damaged and may require the affected area to be replaced. Mariz worksurfaces are extremely hardwearing and durable, but to ensure your worktops lasts as long as possible avoid using excessive force or sharp objects.

No. Mariz is a 12mm compact laminate product made by compiling multiple layers of decorative paper and resin that are fused together under pressure. Maia, on the other hand, is a 28 or 42mm laminate worktop which has a thick chipboard core.

Compact laminate worktops are one of the most cost-effective worktops available on the market today. Mariz worktops are durable, easy to install and maintain, taking stress away from your kitchen, while also being available with 4 different sink module options (15 different sink bowls to choose from!!). However, unlike solid surface worktops like minerva, mariz cannot be repaired if damaged.

Solid wood worktops are usually made from strips (staves) of solid wood (many retailers sell beech worktops, oak worktops, bamboo worktops, wenge worktops, acacia worktops etc). Most have to be oiled before installation and regularly throughout the life of the product. They are repairable to a degree.

No, to install mariz you will only need standard tools. We factory finish all worktop edges, as well as sink modules and drainer grooves to help take away difficulties with on-site preparation. A full list of required tools can be found in our installation guide.

All mariz sink modules come with drainer grooves on standard, these are cut at our factory to ensure the best possible finish and look for your kitchen. This takes away the headache of cutting drainer grooves on site, saving you time and money.

Mariz worktops arrive already finished and ready for installation, however, if any additional cuts are required, we recommend that the raw edges are sanded with P180, P240 & P320 sandpaper before sealing with linseed oil. All of these are included in our installation kit.
